Samantha Sikari's Poem

POEM: SCREAMING

I hate the sound of screaming

When horrors pull your hair,

When shutters bang and doorbells clang

But nobody is there.

When yellow eyes are gleaming,

But they are all you see,

I hate the sound of screaming

Especially when it’s me!

Elizabeth Nawason's Poem

POEM: WOMAN

CENTURIES COME AND GO

GENERATIONS COME AND GO

BUT YOU ARE STILL KNOWN AS A WOMAN

WOMEN YOU ARE THE BEAST OF BURDEN

YOU CARRY BILUM LOAD AFTER BILUM LOAD

YOU FETCH WATER BUCKETS ONE AFTER THE OTHER

YOU ARE ABUSED, BEATEN AND INSULTED

BUT YOU NEVER RETALIATE

YOUR HEART IS FULL OF LOVE FOR YOUR LITTLE ONES

YOU ARE THE EARLY MORNING BIRD

AND THE EVENING STAR

THE HOUSEHOLD MACHINE IS WHAT YOU ARE

WHO RESPECTS YOU?

YOUR MAN COMES HOME DRUNK AND CRAZY

DEMANDING FOR HIS NEEDS TO BE MET

YOU GIVE OUT LOVE NOT FEAR

FOR THAT WAS WHY YOU WERE CREATED

Jeremy Koyama's Acrostic Poem on Drugs

D-rugs make you
R-egret or just relax. Some people take them when they are

G-et away from their life's mess while others
S-muggle drugs from state to state to get their well earned pay.

Jonathan Kila's Explanation Text

How To Keep Fit!

Exercising regularly is the state of being physically fit.

If you exercise twice a day, you will be strong, in a good shape and be fit and healthy.

Exercise can make muscle tone grow and you can be fit and healthy.
You can exercise in the gym or if you don’t want to, you can run around the house and you can be fit.

The time you realize you are growing fat or gaining weight that’s the time when you exercise in an area with more open space and the mostly to eat only healthy food.

Richard Kaiap's Thoughts on Drugs

My Thoughts about Drugs!

Some of the best medicine in the world are made out of drugs or contain drugs. If you take too much of it; you will be affected.

Some harmful drugs like alcohol can cause a lot of problem in your body. Some harmful drugs can kill you, some can affect your brain and some can even affect all the systems in your body.

Kanau Kanah's Recount Writing

MY EASTER WEEKEND RECOUNT

During my Easter weekend, I went camping at this place called Bautama. On Thursday after school, my parents packed my clothes. After that, I had my dinner and had a bath. My dad came and told me that I am suppose to go for camp on Friday. I was really excited that I slept at 7:00pm that evening.

The next day, I woke up really early. My father told me that he would be back at 1:00pm, so while waiting, I had a short sleep. While I was sleeping my father called and told me to get ready. I got up and washed my face and brought my bags out.

After that, I put on my shoes and waited for my father. Some minutes later, my father drove into the house; we got onto the car and went for camp. I really liked that camp because we went swimming and hiking and I will never forget that camp.

Benjamin Kare's Thoughts on Harmful Drugs.

DRUGS

Drugs are substances people use. There are legal and illegal drugs which can be helpful or harmful to our bodies. Some people take in drugs to cure themselves from sicknesses or simply relax and free their minds from pressure.

Harmful drugs are mostly dangerous because you can get lots of disease and you might end up getting sick, being bedridden and eventually dying.

Mostly what I’m trying to say is people must not take drugs even if they are in a lot of stress because of the side effects of these drugs and you must know the effects. Read more about drugs in the internet to further your knowledge of Harmful drugs.

Tarabelle Duigu's Narrative Story

THE LOST CHILD

Once upon a time there lived a family who went for a trip to Sahara Desert in Africa. As they were in Africa, they went walking in the desert. While they were walking, one of their sons named Chris went missing.

When they got back to their camp site, the parents realized that their child went missing. The parents were so worried that they couldn’t sleep that night.

The next day, Chris parents and his brother and sister went looking for him. Chris, was only eight years old and he didn’t know how to go back home.

Chris' family looked everywhere until they found him and they went home. They hugged Chris and were sorry for letting him wander alone into the desert. They stayed for one more day at the site. The next day they went to the nearby town to buy their tickets to go back to America.

The following day they travelled back to America.

Deborah Steven's Reflection

Thinking around my learning of mathematics is:

Learning how to change fractions to percentages then decimals and over again in a circle; can be fun and exhausting.

E.g.

5% = 5/100 = 0.05 – There are no tenths but 5 hundredths.

This is all about learning so making use of it is wise.
